Aeroponics Vs Hydroponics, which one is better?

In the early 1920s, aeroponics was invented by a Dutch biologist. It’s a process where a plant grows using just water and nutrients. Plants basically grow in a medium that is soilless and it is called Rockwool. On the other hand, Hydroponics is an old method, peoples use this technique thousands of years ago.

It’s basically a process where plants grow also without soil. The difference with Aerophonics is, hydroponics uses nutrients rich water solution to grow the plant, on the other hand, in Aeroponics the plant roots are exposed and need to spray with a solution. In a hydroponics system, the root of the plant needs to behold in a fixed position so that it can’t move much, whereas the root in Aerophonics must need to move freely.

Aeroponics and hydroponics both have pros and cons. So if we talk about Aerophonics, it provides a maximum yield of plants, for a farmer or investor which is the most important thing. Better production, better profit margin. In aeroponics, plants grow faster, because of nutrition. So results are getting early.

In this system, it’s easy to inspect fruits and vegetables. Aeroponics is best for earning profit but it’s an expensive system if you can consider the expense it can be worth the investment. In this system plants, health quality is very good, and they are less affected by pests. Another good thing about Aerophonics is they use at least 25% less water than Hydroponics.

Now talk about Hydroponics, the first thing about Hydroponics is the cost. It cost lower than Aeroponics. It doesn’t need specialized machinery to produce mist-like Aeroponics. This is a cost-friendly method. It’s possible to make also in-home, which is great for beginners because maintenance is easy in Hydroponics.

It allows water recycling. There are also a few cons to this system, the disease spread easily. If one is affected, the rest of the plants get easily affected. This system requires a large amount of space. In the beginning, the cost is low, but if we consider about future the long-term cost is higher.

Finally, we can conclude that both of them are good from a different perspective. Aeroponics is best idle for business and Hydroponics is good for hobbyists or beginners.
